Industrial Usage Of Nuts And Bolts

 

Industrial bolts and nuts have various usages in different industries because they come in different sizes, special grades (that have mechanical and chemical capabilities), and shapes in the market. 

A few of these are nuts and bolts’ usage in the industry is discussed below- 

1. Stud bolts- Stud bolts are considered to be some sort of specialised connectors mostly because it is used to close flanges and metal parts. Flange connections are made with a special screw which is called the stud bolt. 

It has a threaded rod which is fastened with a hexagon nut on both the sides. 

It is usually used in the gas and oil industry. It is widely used in the petrochemical industry. 

Other industries where stud bolt is used are, mining and construction industries. It is a basic component in the cement, sewage, water, and automobile industry. 

2. Hex fit bolts- Hex bolts are also called the hexagon head bolts. They have hexagonal head which is tightened with a socket or a wrench. These bolts are usually used to fasten metal to metal, wood to metal or wood to wood. 

So, they are usually used in the wood industry, steel industry, and construction industry as they are suitable for bridge, dock, building projects. 

3. Cylinder head bolts- These bolts are connectors between cylinder-head gasket, engine block, and cylinder head. It helps to mutually seal the combustion chamber, coolant channels, ambient air, and lubricant. 

These are usually used in the automobile industry. 

4. Shoulder bolts- These are also known as stripper bolts. There are three sections- the head, the shoulder, and the thread. The best part about these bolts is that they are customisable and can be tailor-made according to the requirements.

They are used in the automotive industry, plastic injection molding industry, and are used for medical purposes too. 

5. Banjo bolts- Banjo bolts are machines that use magnets in order to attach steel tubes together. 

These bolts are used in the automobile industries, oil and pipeline industries and are also used for building bridges, buildings, etc.
